Health Day to be held in Moscow region

On September 27, the Moscow Regional Cancer Center with the support of non-profit partnership Equal Right to Life will held the "Health Day" action for residents of Moscow and Moscow region. Everyone will be able to get free advice and to be examined by medical specialists for possible pre-cancer and cancer.

It is no secret that the sun can provoke cancer growth. During the summer, many people actively sunbathe on vacation and thus hurt their health. But only few people think about the risk of cancer until its manifestation. When people feel pain in the body, or see changes in the skin, they often prefer not to attend doctors and delay it until autumn. At the same time, in order to mitigate their initial discomfort, they attempt self-treatment; this makes the way to recovery more difficult, painful and long, and in more severe cases even impossible.
According to statistics for 2013, the most common types of malignant tumors in the Moscow region were breast cancer - 47 new cases per 100,000, melanoma (malignant degeneration of moles) - 46 new cases per 100,000 and prostate cancer – 21 new cases per 100,000.
It should be mentioned that doctors say responsibly: early diagnosis and timely treatment of cancer is often the key to a complete cure. That is why the activities aimed at early diagnosis and increasing the "cancer vigilance" are becoming more and more relevant and demanded by society.
The Health Days to be held at the Moscow Regional Cancer Center will provide an opportunity for everyone older than 18 years to have free initial consultations with qualified oncologists in the following specialties: gynecology, breast health, urology, proctology and dermatology (examination of moles). If necessary, the participants will have an opportunity to receive additional services on a fee basis:
- ultrasound, mammography, X-ray study, CT, MRI, laboratory tests (tumor markers, cytology);
- removal of tumors neoformations (pappilomas, condylomas, nevuses, etc.).
