Master-class for oncologists will be held in Tomsk

On April 18 the first training seminar for oncologists in 2014 organized by the Russian Society of Hematology and non-profit partnership Equal Right to Life will be held in Tomsk
Such master-classes are held in our country for already several years as part of the program for implementation of modern innovative technologies of cancer diagnosis and treatment. At the regional oncological clinics more than 300 master-classes were conducted in which experts from leading research centers took part. The main topic of the master class in Tomsk – Supporting therapy in oncology – will be interesting to every doctor. During the event, leading experts in hematology and oncology will share their experiences in the field of supporting therapy – coping with infections, leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, etc.
Master-class in Tomsk will start at 12.00 at the Clinics of the Tomsk Cancer Research Institute of Siberian Branch of RAMS. The opening remarks to the master-class participants was delivered by Evgeniy Lhamatcyrenovich Choinzonov, Director of the TCRI, RAMS academician, professor, doct. med. sci.
It will be followed by five reports on topical issues of supporting therapy.

Vadim Vadimovich Ptushkin, doct. med. sci., professor, Head of Department of hematology and oncology of adolescents and adults of the Federal Research and Clinical Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology of the Russian Ministry of Health will deliver lectures on the following topics:
• Overview of standard regimens available in daily clinical practice for the treatment of lymphoproliferative disorders;
• Adverse effects and complications in NHL treatment: incidence, prevention and treatment methods;
• Clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of anemia in patients with malignant neoplasms.

Veniamin Mikhailovich Chernov – doct. med. sci., professor, Deputy Director for Research at the Federal Research and Clinical Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology of the Russian Ministry of Health, will talk about therapy of iron metabolism.
• Differential diagnosis and substantiation of treatment of iron metabolism disorders in oncology practice;
• Intravenous iron preparations - the evolution of therapy.

Tomsk will host such master-class dedicated to supporting therapy in oncology for the first time; this event will continue a series of social and educational activities for doctors and patients that NP Equal Right to Life plans to hold, in cooperation with the Russian Society of Hematology, in Western Siberia in 2014.
