The interactive Patients’ School “Current technology in breast cancer treatment”

On November 21, at 16:00 (Moscow time) the online Patients School will be held dedicated to latest technologies in the treatment of breast cancer. This is an interactive webcast of experts’ presentations with an opportunity for participants to ask questions and receive advice on individual cases. Participation in the online School is free for anyone, all you need is register following the link my.webinar.ru/event/210851/ and enter the resource at scheduled time.

“Patients Schools” are free educational events, organized by interregional public movement Movement Against Cancer with the support of non-profit partnership Equal Right to Life. Such schools are regularly held for already two years and are dedicated to the most topical issues of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, the rights of patients and psychological rehabilitation. In the online mode, doctors, lawyers, psychologists and even patients who have defeated cancer make their presentations for the audience of the Schools.

During the online Patients’ School to be held on November, 21, experts will speak about the latest technology in the treatment of breast cancer, the specifics of psychological rehabilitation of patients, the legal and organizational issues of receiving medical care and social assistance. At the end of their presentations speakers will give practical advices and answer questions of the Internet audience. Any participant of the School will have an opportunity to communicate with speakers through chat. The School will be helpful not only for patients, but also to all people having a friend or a relative who contracted cancer.

This Patients’ School will be opened by Irina Vladimirovna Kolyadina, cand. med. sci., assistant at the Department of Oncology of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (RMAPO). She will deliver a lecture on the latest advances in the treatment of breast cancer and will highlight the importance of timely therapy. During the legal unit of the event, Lidiya Sergeevna Moskvina,who is a legal consultant of the non-profit partnership Equal Right to Life, will talk about patients’ rights, organizational issues of receiving medical care and social protection.  The speaker of the psychological unit, psychotherapist of the autonomous non-commercial organization “Project Co-operate” Oksana Vladislavovna Nazarova will cover the aspects of psychological rehabilitation of breast cancer patients.

During the webcast a consultation will be available via chat. Participants’ questions will be answered by:
• medical issues: Madina Petrovna Baranova, cand. med. sci., oncologist, breast specialist, surgeon at the Department of surgery and diagnosis of tumours of the N.N. Blokhin RCRC of RAMS, assistant of the Department of Oncology of RMAPO;
• psychological issues: Anastasiya Victorovna Strelnikova, practiticing psychologist in oncology;
• legal issues: Larisa Konstantinovna Zvereva, lawyer.
