On November 25-26 Moscow will host the Fourth Russian Congress of patients

The Russian Union of Patients today represents the interests of broad social strata of our country – patients, their relatives, doctors, government officials, politicians; the activities are carried out in 80 regions of Russia. The Union is involved on permanently basis in the work of public negotiation platforms of the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Public Chamber, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Federal Service on Surveillance in Healthcare.

The main objectives of the Congress:
- promote dialogue between public authorities and patient community;
- consolidation of public organizations for the protection of patients' rights;
- discussion of legislative initiatives in the health sector;
- formation of a system of public control in health care.

An important direction of development of a public control system in health care is to establish Council of public organizations for the protection of patients' rights in the administrative units of the Russian Federation. At federal level, such Council exists at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
The Congress program includes a separate meeting dedicated to the organization of a public control system in health sector and interaction between patient and medical communities.
