In the course of the action, residents of the city can participate in free screening for cancer.
Since August 25, at the out-patient department of the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 3 of Kalinin district of Chelyabinsk (Prospekt Pobedy, 287) the "Cancer Patrol" action is held, where the visitors are screened for free for signs of malignancy. The event was prepared by the public organization "Co-operate" with the support of non-profit partnership "Equal Right to Life" and is aimed at implementation of the government's objective of prevention and early diagnosis of cancer. Making appointments with specialists is provided by calling the hotline 8-800-200-2-200 (seven days a week from 11:00 to 23:00).
Cancer is one of the main causes of death among working-age population in our country. According to health experts, Russia loses 300 thousand people due to cancer every year, which is 10 times more than the number of victims of road accidents. According to the Association of Oncologists of Russia, the number of patients with malignant tumors in the Chelyabinsk region in 2011 was about 14.5 thousand.
Every third cancer patient in Russian dies within the first year after diagnosis, in most cases this is due to the late detection of disease (with every second cancer is detected at a late stage in Russia). On the other hand, early detection and timely treatment of cancer guarantees full recovery in many cases. That is why the activities aimed at improving of "cancer vigilance" are becoming more and more popular.
"Cancer Patrol" in Chelyabinsk is a great opportunity to have preventive examinations for early detection of possible tumors. The out-patient department of the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 3 invites residents of the Kalinin district, women aged 40+ and men aged 45+, to get a free expert advice.
Oncologists responsibly claim: "Cancer is not a death sentence." The earlier a person learns his diagnosis, the more chances he or she has not only to save his/her own life and health, but also the quality of life of a family.
Pre-registration by hotline of NP Equal Right to Life: 8-800-200-2-200 (from 11:00 to 23:00).
